Kumasi Jan. 27, GNA – The Ashanti Regional Collection Sector of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) exceeded its revenue target for 2024 by 13.7 per cent.
The Sector mobilised over GH¢450 million in revenue as against the targeted revenue of GH¢399.43.
The Division has for the past three consecutive years been recording shortfalls in its revenue collection until the outgoing Sector Commander, Mrs Vivian Glover took over as Commander in 2023.
Mrs Glover, speaking at a send-off ceremony organised in her honour, said the achievement followed the adoption of strategic measures in revenue mobilisation which yielded positive results.
She praised the staff of the sector for their hard work and dedication.
“The commitment of the staff at the Sector with support from the Regional Coordinating Council and Security Council ensured we achieve this remarkable feat,” she stated.
Mrs Glover is retiring from the Division after 37 years of active service and bowing out as the third female Commander at the Kumasi collection.
Brigadier Ziblim Ayorogo, Commissioner of the Customs Division, praised Mrs Glover for the achievement under her leadership.
“Her impact of the Division has been profound, emphasising the policies and procedures that have strengthened the customs division’s operations.
We extend our deepest gratitude to you for your remarkable dedication to service,” he said.
Chief Revenue Officer Mr Evans Teye Agbozo, the new Sector Commander pledged his commitment to effectively discharge his duties to help sustain the gains made by his predecessor.
