Accra, Jan. 24, GNA – The Ghana Internet Safety Foundation (GISF), in collaboration with Impact Amplifier, AIS-USA and other affiliate organizations, has introduced the Trust and Safety Africa Academy Fellowship.
The programme is designed to equip African students with the tools and expertise to address pressing online safety challenges and promote trust and safety across the continent.
Mr Emmanuel Adinkra, the President of Ghana Internet Safety Foundation told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview that individuals passionate about creating safer online communities and advocating for digital rights could participate.
He said the programme offered virtually would give participants the chance to join a network of changemakers working to make the digital world safer for all.
Mr Adinkra said the applicant must be a resident in Africa and enrolled as a university student, be between 18 and 35 years old and be committed to fostering gender equity and inclusiveness in digital safety initiatives.
He said participants could choose from the following tracks including Trust and Safety, Digital Forensics & Incident Response (DFIR), Combined Track (Trust and Safety + DFIR)
“The Academy may reassign applicants to tracks that best align with the fellowship’s goals,” he added.
He urged the young people to take the opportunity to shape the future of trust and safety in Africa’s digital landscape.
