Togbi Dosu Adaku urges the public to practice personal hygiene

Dakordzi (VR), Dec 6, GNA-Togbi Dosu Adaku VIII, Chief of Dakordzi in the Anloga District of the Volta Region, has urged the public to always practice personal hygiene to drive away many other communicable diseases.

This would help maintain and protect the environment and eradicate breeding ground for mosquitoes and other vectors that carried other diseases to save life.

Togbi Adaku, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, during a clean-up exercise organised at Dakordzi seashore, said that ‘cleanliness is next to Godliness’ and it was a duty for all to maintain hygienic environment.

“I decided to sponsor the clean-up exercise for my people at the seashore because this is where their income comes from and we need to keep it clean always to attract more investors to support the fishing business in the area,” he said.

He said that communal labour fostered peace and unity among all, and it should be prioritised to strengthen the level of togetherness in the area for more development and progress.

He also stated that the beach was where many depended for livelihood and must be kept clean all the time to create more jobs for the youths through fishing and other related businesses.

Togbi Adaku commended the residents of Dakordzi, Atorkor and the surrounding communities for availing themselves for the exercise and called for unity among other nearby communities.

“Other agenda l have is to improve the only health facility we have here, support youths in education, help lobby and create jobs for all and see how we can seek for assistant to put our road to a good shape to avoid further accident and loss of lives.”

He also charged all to protect and preach peace ahead of the 2024 general election and urged political party leaders to address any grievances they may encounter at court rather than using force and violence that could endanger life and property.

Mr Raphael Fenu, the Assembly Member of Atorkor Electoral Area, told the GNA that the exercise was also used to prepare the beach ahead of the upcoming yuletide.

He applauded Togbi Dosu Adaku for his support and called on other individuals and philanthropists to help provide some needed items which included rakes, brooms, and dustbins for their activities to keep the beach and the communities clean always.

Some residents GNA engaged after the clean-up exercise expressed joy and thanked Togbi Adaku for the support which included provision of drinks and food which were distributed after the exercise.
