Accra, Dec 16, GNA – Mr. Benjamin Narteh Ayiku, the Member of Parliament (MP), for Ledzokuku Constituency has held a thanksgiving service to express his gratitude to God following the outcome of the 2024 general election.
Mr. Ayiku beat his closest contender, Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye by some 11,000 votes to retain the Ledzokuku Parliamentary seat.
Adorned in white clothes and party paraphernalia, Mr. Ayiku together with constituency executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), joined members of The Apostolic Church, Teshie Number 1 for the service.
Addressing the congregation, Mr Ayiku who is also the Presiding Elder of the church, thanked the constituents for the love shown to him, and expressed appreciation for retaining him to represent the constituency a second time.
He urged his constituents to rally behind him to address pressing challenges within the constituency, stressing his commitment to serve in humility.
“There is so much work that needs to be done, and I urge you all to rally behind me,” he said.
He used the occasion to advocate unity and collective action.
Describing his re-election as a significant milestone in the constituency’s politics, Mr. Ayiku pledged to live up to the confidence reposed in him by championing the cause of the people of Ledzokuku.
