New Edubiase (Ash), Dec. 13, GNA – Oguahyia Oduro-panin Birikorang, the chief of New Edubiase in the Ashanti region, has warned the youth in the area, particularly, the NDC supporters, against attacks on their opponents after the declaration of the December election results.

He said he would not sit down and allow NDC youth to continue with the unprovoked violent attacks, which were going on in some communities in the area.

Speaking in a meeting with the leaders of the various political parties in the area, he warned that, if attacks did not stop immediately, the traditional council would be forced to take drastic actions to stop it.

Oguayhia Birikorang condemned the Zongohene of New Edubiase, Abdulai Baba, for his alleged support and involvement in the attacks and said as a traditional leader, Abdulai should have known that peace was crucial after the elections.

He called on the district police to work to ensure law and order to curb further destruction of life and properties in the area.

Nana Akua Dwum II, the Queen mother of New Edubiase, also expressed worry over the destruction of property by some NDC youth in the area, stating that, this was the first time such incident was happening in the area.

She called on the police to arrest all those involved and bring them to justice.
