Anloga District holds end of year meeting to honour outgoing DCE

Anloga (VR), Dec. 20, GNA-The Assembly members in the Anloga Municipality of the Volta Region have held an end of year meeting to deliberate on some important and developmental issues of the Assembly.  

The meeting was also used to honour Mr Seth Kwasi Yormewu, the outgoing Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for serving the district wholeheartedly with determination, dedication and hard work during his tenure. 

Mr Joseph Kpatta, the Presiding Member (PM) of Anloga Municipal Assembly, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, said that issues, which include the ongoing construction of new District Assembly Hall, the MCE’s residents and the Agenda 111 projects, among others were discussed.  

“Today’s meeting was very crucial and important because it marked the last meeting that we are having with the outgoing MCE, and today also marked exactly one year, when all Assembly members were voted into power,” he noted. 

He said that the meeting was not for only Assembly members but was open to all other departments within the Assembly as well as the general public to show farewell to the Municipal Chief Executive.  

He described the outgoing MCE as a hardworking individual, who was always ready to work with all manner of people devoid of their political affiliations and the Assembly members would miss his services greatly in the next year’s Assembly activities.  

Mr Seth Yormewu, the outgoing MCE, in his appreciation messages thanked and commended the Assembly members for their benevolent and collaborative works that had given a new face and development to many communities in the area. 

“I know government is a continuous process and I hope the next government will also help build on the level at which we have elevated the assembly’s status to for more development and progress of our beloved Anloga Municipality.” 

Mr Yormewu urged the next National Democratic Congress (NDC) government to help complete the ongoing projects which include the Agent 111 hospital at Agortoe, the new assembly Hall, the DCE’s bungalow and others which were at different level of completion to uplift the standard of the district.  

He said through hard work and collective unity among the members has helped elevated the Anloga District to Municipal status under his administration and urged all assembly members to assist the next MCE for greater achievements.  

Some Assembly members GNA engaged after the meeting expressed satisfaction of working with Mr Seth Yormewu and appealed to the next MCE to emulate the examples of the predecessor for unity, development and progress.  

GNA also observed that various institutions within the Assembly and some political party executives including NPP and NDC have presented a citation to the DCE to honour his achievement over the years.
