Two Marwako Food Restaurant branches reopened

Accra, July 09, GNA – The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has lifted the suspension of catering activities at the East Legon and Abelenkpe Branches of Marwako Food Restaurant.

However, the La Branch remains closed whilst the Spintex Road Branch is still going through processes to be formally issued with the requisite Food Hygiene Permit to start operations.

A statement copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Accra has said.

It said the FDA, working with the Management of Marwako, had comprehensively trained all levels of Management and staff of Marwako on Food Safety Management Systems; ensured the implementation of their corrective actions, and the institution of preventive actions.

The Authority assured the public that it would continue to strictly monitor all operations of Marwako to ensure that all safety measures put in place were consistently complied with.

The Foods and Drugs Authority closed down the Marwako Food Restaurant in March this year over a suspected case of food poisoning.
