EU Unemployment in May at 6.1%, in Bulgaria at 4.3%—Eurostat

Sofia, June 30, (BTA/GNA) – In May, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in the European Union (EU) remained at its April levels of 6.1 per cent, seasonally adjusted. It went down from 7.3% in May, show Eurostat data.

Unemployment in the eurozone fell to 6.6% down from 6.7% in April and 8.1% in May 2021.

In May unemployment in Bulgaria remained at its April level of 4.3%. In May 2021 it was at 5.4%.

The number of jobless remained unchanged from April, 140,000 people. In May 2021 the jobless numbered 175,000.

In May 2022, unemployed youths were 15,000, as many as in April. In May 2021, they totalled 15,400.
