Accra, Dec. 5, GNA – Eric Ofosu-Hene clinched the 2021 edition of the GCB Bank classic Golf competition played at the Bok Nam Kim Golf Club, Burma Camp on Saturday.
The highly-rated golfer was too strong for his other 20 competitors in Category A of the 18-hole swing beating Donald Obilor on countback to win the topmost prize of the competition with both scoring 66 points.
Rickie Hurtubise, a 15-year-old golfer settled for the third position having produced a brilliant score of 67 missing out on the second position with just a stroke.
In category B, Nash Antwi (Handicaps 14.5) scored 60 points to emerge the winner, followed by Paul Edwards (60) and Paul Dwimoh (62) who placed second and third respectively.
In the ladies’ category, Awura Abena Asante toppled the other 22 competitors to win the competition with 61 points followed by Hajia Zenabu Akoto (62) and Helen Appah (63) who placed second and third respectively.
Mr. Emmanuel Lamptey, Deputy Managing Director of Operations at GCB Bank, was elated with the success of the tournament having partnered with Bok Nam Kim Golf club to make the event which has 107 golfers participating.
