Techiman (BE/R) Nov. 5, GNA – Mr Samuel Aboagye, the Election 2020 National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Obuasi East, Ashanti Region, has called for unity among members to enhance the chances of the Party in the 2024 election.
“We must endeavour to ensure absolute unity within our rank and file and use available resources to support former President John Dramani Mahama to wrestle political power in the 2024 general election,” he said.
In a telephone interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr Aboagye said former President Mahama remained the best Presidential Candidate for the NDC in 2024, saying the “ex-President has an advantage over any other candidate in the NDC.”
“Former President Mahama is the only marketable candidate who can lead us to victory in 2024. John Mahama is a household name in Ghana’s political space and if we make any mistake to change him, then we are doomed forever,” Mr Aboagye stated.
He said the rising unemployment situation and high cost of living in the country had provided an enormous opportunity for the NDC to regain political power but added that until Party supporters and disgruntled members bury their differences, it would be extremely difficult for the Party to win the elections.
