GWCL supports COVID-19 fight with bottled water in Upper West

Wa, April 30, GNA – The Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has given 100 packs of G-Water valued at GH¢850.00 to support the COVID-19 fight in the Upper West Region.

Mr Clement Kuukaayeng, the Upper West Regional Chief Manager of GWCL who made the presentation to the Deputy Regional Minister, Mr Amidu Chinnia Issahaku, noted that the gesture was part of efforts to ensure the availability of water as directed by the President.

In addition, he said the water would help the region to take care of both quarantined and isolated persons of COVID-19 in the region.

Mr Issahaku in receiving the water on behalf of the Regional Minister, Dr Hafiz Bin Salih, thanked the company for the donation.

He noted that in times like this, they expected both governmental and non-governmental institutions to contribute their quota to help address the challenge.

“I believe it’s in this respect that the GWCL is giving to support the regional efforts at containing the pandemic”, he stressed.

On the distribution, the Deputy Regional Minister noted that 20 packs each would be given to the Wa Regional Hospital; Jirapa, Wa and Nandom Municipal Hospitals; as well as the Nadowli-Kaleo District Hospital.

Mr Issahaku appealed for more donations to help the region to adequately fight the spread of the pandemic.
