Accra, Dec 10, GNA – President-elect John Dramani Mahama, with a heart full of gratitude, on Monday night delivered a victory speech to Ghanaians for returning him to the presidency.
The event took place a few hours after the Electoral Commission, in Accra, had declared him the winner of the presidential election with 56.55 per cent of valid votes cast.
The President-elect, during the delivery of his victory speech was flanged by his wife, Lordina and their five children.
The list of dignitaries at the event include Vice President-elect Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang; Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC); Mr. Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the NDC General Secretary and Mr. Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communications Officer of the NDC.
Others are Professor Joshua Alabi, the Campaign Manager of the President-elect; Dr Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, the NDC Parliamentary Caucus Leader and Member of Parliament (MP) for Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam; and Mr. Kwame Governs Agbodza, the NDC Parliamentary Caucus Chief Whip and MP for Adaklu.
The rest are Mr. Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, former National Chairman of the NDC; Mr. Haruna Iddrisu, a former Minority Leader and NDC MP for Tamale South; and Dr Valerie Esther Sawyerr, a former Deputy Chief of Staff at the Presidency.
Also, at the event were NDC MPs elect, former Ministers of State, NDC functionaries from the constituencies, regional and national levels, and NDC foot soldiers.
