Obuasi (Ash), Nov. 6, GNA – The Obuasi East Municipal Assembly will construct an ultra-modern office complex at Pomposo to accommodate the Municipal Education and Health Directorates and improve public service delivery through better working conditions and effective coordination.
Mr William Kofi Adzowu, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), announced this at the Third Ordinary Meeting of the Third Session of the Third Assembly, held at Wawasi.
He said the project formed part of the Assembly’s strategic interventions to strengthen institutional efficiency and provide a conducive working environment for the two key departments responsible for coordinating education and healthcare delivery in the municipality.
He noted that the existing office accommodation challenges confronting the directorates had affected their administrative operations, making the provision of modern and suitable facilities necessary.
“The project will help both directorates to operate from a befitting office and vastly improve on productivity,” he said.
On the Assembly’s administrative infrastructure, the MCE said work on the new administrative block was 85 per cent complete, expressing optimism about its eventual occupation.
He said the facility, when completed, would provide a centralised and conducive working environment for the various departments and units of the Assembly, thereby improving coordination and administrative efficiency.
“I wish to inform the House that the procurement process for furnishing the new Administration Block is almost completed.
“The Assembly is taking the necessary steps towards furnishing and preparing the facility for occupation,” he said.

Mr Adzowu also announced that the Assembly had procured a new 30-seater Coaster bus to strengthen its operational capacity and facilitate the monitoring of development projects across the municipality.
He said the vehicle would support the transportation of technical officers, Assembly members and departmental heads for field inspections, official assignments and stakeholder engagements.
Touching on revenue mobilisation, Mr Adzowu said the Assembly had generated GH¢2,913,528.46 against an approved target of GH¢3,348,883.29, representing 87 per cent achievement.
He said management was intensifying efforts to improve revenue collection to meet its target and mobilise additional resources to support the municipality’s development priorities.
He emphasised the need for prudent financial management and accountability in the utilisation of public funds, assuring the House that management remained committed to ensuring transparency and value for money in the execution of development projects.
He said the Assembly would continue to pursue initiatives aimed at strengthening its institutional capacity, improving infrastructure and accelerating socio-economic development in the municipality.
