Mother of quadruplets appeals for support as cost of childcare mounts

Gorm, Nov. 08, GNA – A mother of one-year-old quadruplet boys at Gorm in the Ada East District has appealed for financial and material support, as the rising cost of caring for the four children overwhelms the family’s limited resources.

Madam Felicia Kisseh said the family was struggling to provide food, dippers and other essential supplies for the children, whose needs had placed considerable financial pressure on her and her husband.

Madam Kisseh said the quadruplets were not their only children, as they also had an eight-year-old son whose needs they had to meet as well.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), she noted that although individuals and organisations provided assistance following the birth of the quadruplets, the supplies and financial support were exhausted within six months.

She stated that her husband, Mr John Felix Agbesi, a mason, was unable to generate sufficient income to meet the family’s growing needs.

Madam Kisseh, who formerly worked to support the household, said caring for the four boys throughout the day and night had made it difficult for her to return to work.

She estimated that the family needed about GH¢2,600 monthly for two boxes of baby food, in addition to approximately GH¢500 worth for 50 nappies.

She said the children also ate prepared meals, including rice mixed with boiled carrots and blended with banana and milk.

The mother said the recurring cost of these essential items had made it increasingly difficult for the family to provide consistently for the children.

“I don’t know how we are going to survive again because everything we hoped for is failing us. Some philanthropists assisted us when I gave birth to them, including the Member of Parliament, Nana Tea and a few others, but all the foodstuffs are finished,” she said.

Madam Kisseh said the family continued to struggle with the expenses associated with raising four children of the same age, stating that, despite the challenges, her love for the boys remained unwavering.

“I love my boys. Looking at them makes me fulfilled in life, but when they start crying because of hunger, I become frustrated and confused. It overwhelms me,” she said.

She appealed to philanthropists, charitable organisations, corporate institutions and well-meaning individuals to support the family with food, baby supplies and financial assistance to meet the children’s needs.

She said any assistance would help ease the family’s financial burden and enable them to provide the children with the care and nourishment they needed.

Individuals and organisations willing to assist the family may send contributions through her mobile money number, 0548912995, bearing the name Kisseh Felicia.
