Accra, Nov. 06, GNA – Professor Titus K. Beyuo, Member of Parliament (MP) for Lambussie, has appealed to the Minister of the Interior and the country’s security leadership to review and possibly lift the curfew imposed on Hamile following the explosion that occurred in the community on November 3, 2026.
Making a statement on the floor of Parliament on Thursday, Prof Beyuo said engagements with community stakeholders indicated that the curfew had largely achieved its intended purpose, as calm and normalcy had returned to the area.
The MP, in whose constituency the incident occurred, said residents had cooperated with the security agencies and that the situation was now under control.
He therefore urged the authorities to consider lifting the restriction to enable residents to resume their normal social and economic activities.
Prof Beyuo also called on the security agencies to expedite investigations into the explosion and establish its exact cause.
He expressed optimism that the outcome of the investigations would help prevent similar incidents in the future and strengthen safety measures in the community.
The legislator said he had visited the families of those who lost their lives and persons receiving treatment for injuries sustained in the incident.
He added that he had pledged to support the injured victims by paying their medical bills.
The November 3 explosion claimed three lives and left 13 others injured, prompting security authorities to impose a curfew on the community as part of measures to maintain law and order while investigations continued.
