Tema, Nov. 02, GNA — The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Tema Region, has engaged customers at the Community One Market to address concerns about electricity meters, credit loading and illegal connections.

The engagement formed part of activities marking Customer Service Month 2026 and provided an opportunity for members of the public to interact with ECG officials on issues affecting their electricity supply.

Customers who visited a stand mounted by the company raised concerns about the process of obtaining new or separate metres, difficulties loading credit onto their metres and metres that continued blinking despite having credit.

Some participants welcomed the initiative, expressing appreciation for ECG’s decision to take its engagement activities into the market to interact directly with customers.

Madam Zita Kyei-Gyamfi, Tema Regional Revenue Protection Manager, who represented the Regional General Manager, stated that the exercise was intended to appreciate customers and reaffirm the company’s commitment to providing safe, reliable and quality electricity supply.

Madam Kyei-Gyamfi also cautioned the public against illegal electricity connections, saying such practices could overload transformers and affect electricity supply.

She urged those involved in illegal connections to desist, warning that offenders would be prosecuted.

A team from the Communications Directorate of ECG’s Head Office, led by Madam Patricia Brefo, Manager for Services Marketing, joined the Tema Regional Communications Unit for the engagement.
