The award recognises the Centre’s contributions to development research, policy advocacy and social well-being, particularly its efforts to address development challenges affecting vulnerable and underserved populations.

A statement issued by Mr Jonathan Adabre Atia, Founder and Executive Director of DRAC, and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Bolgatanga, said the recognition followed a nomination and independent evaluation process conducted by research consultants and professionals in philanthropy, development and social impact.

According to the statement, DRAC was selected for its organisational impact, commitment to improving lives and contribution to national development.

The statement noted that the recognition underscored the importance of evidence-based research and policy advocacy in informing public policy, strengthening development programmes and improving living conditions.

It said the award would be formally presented at the Ghana Philanthropy Awards Gala scheduled for November 19, 2026, at the Alisa Hotel in Accra.

Mr Atia said DRAC received official notification of the award in a letter dated October 21, 2026, from the organisers, The Business Executive Group.

As part of the recognition, the Centre would receive a commemorative plaque, a certificate and a medal of honour.
