Speaking to the media after the inspection, Mr. Brentum commended the contractors working on the projects and the Wiawso Municipal Assembly and encouraged other Municipal and District Assemblies in the region to emulate Wiawso Municipal Assembly under the leadership of Mr. Dominic Gyasi, to always ensure value for money as far as government projects were concerned.
The Regional Minister said teachers’ accommodation was central to government’s agenda and tasked Municipal and District Chief Executives in the region to consider adding teachers’ accommodation to their development plans.
Mr Brentum announced that the government through the District Assemblies Common Fund would soon come out with the “Teacher Dabre programme” targeting teachers.
“The President is poised in his resetting agenda and will ensure development at all levels,” he said.
Mr Dominic Gyasi, the Wiawso Municipal Chief Executive, said he was delighted at the progress of work so far and gave an assurance that the Municipal Assembly was in constant engagement with the Electricity Company of Ghana, to extend electricity to all the facilities even before they were handed over to the various communities, to serve the purpose for which they were built.
