Adaklu Waya (V/R), Oct. 05, GNA – Mr Jerry Yao Ameko, the Adaklu District Chief Executive (DCE), has debunked the assertion by detractors of the government that the Adaklu district has been neglected in the sharing of development projects by the current administration.
He said the district had seen more development projects under the about 20 months of the administration of President John Dramani Mahama than any government.
Mr Ameko said this when he addressed the chiefs and people of Adaklu Waya at the end of the National Sanitation Day exercise in which he, together with Madam Stella Vidzro, the Adaklu District Environmental Health Officer participated.
He said several new and abandoned classroom blocks had been completed and commissioned in some communities, with beneficiaries including Adaklu Vodze, Adaklu Kpatovoe, Adaklu Ablornu and Adaklu Kpodzi.
He continued that six-unit self-contained teacher bungalows were also ongoing in eight communities including Adaklu Kodzobi, Adaklu Dave, Adaklu Dawanu, Adaklu Kpodzi and Adaklu Anfoe.
Mr Ameko said several health facilities were also being put up, with some old ones also being expanded, including those in Adaklu Kpetsu, Adaklu Ahunda Kpodzi and Adaklu Kodzobi.
He said the construction of the road from Adaklu Tsriefe through Adaklu Waya, Adaklu Torda to Keyime under the government’s Big Push programme and the others were progressing steadily in the district.
Mr Ameko stated that the road from the Adaklu Waya township to the Agenda 111 project site would be an asphalted dual carriageway in anticipation of the increase in vehicular traffic.
He therefore advised the people not to put any new structures closer to the road, saying that the government had finished its assessment of structures which would be affected and compensation would be paid to the victims.
“We even paid contractors who executed projects in the district and were not paid by the previous government. The evidence of our works in the district is there for all of us to see,” he stated.
He assured the people that the President Mahama-led government would not abandon the people of Adaklu when it came to the sharing of the national cake and urged them not to be swayed by the ‘naysayers’ but to exercise restraint as the government worked to develop the district.
