Tema, Oct 24, GNA — Mr Ludwig Teye Totimeh, Tema West Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), has urged members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to unite behind newly elected constituency executives to strengthen the party and improve its performance.

Mr Totimeh said unity and cooperation among party members were necessary to help the new executives carry out their responsibilities and advance the interests of the party, saying that the election of new executives should not create divisions among members but rather bring them together to work towards a common goal.

He urged members who contested the various positions but lost to support those who emerged victorious, stressing that the party’s success depended on the collective efforts of all its members, therefore cautioning against allowing disagreements arising from the elections to weaken the party, noting that internal elections should serve as a means of strengthening unity rather than creating divisions.

He said the party could make progress in the constituency and across the country if members remained committed to a shared vision and pledged to work with all elected executives, regardless of the positions they occupied, to promote the growth of the party.

The MCE added that the newly elected executives had a responsibility to make the party better than they met it and called on members to support them in achieving that objective, saying that sustained cooperation among party members would be important in strengthening the NDC in Tema West and improving its chances in future elections.

He reiterated that the constituency’s progress depended on the ability of members to put aside personal differences and work together for the party’s collective interest.
