Liati (V/R), Oct. 21, GNA – Saint George’s Polyclinic at Liati in the Afadzato South District has collaborated with the Ghana Immigration Service and the St. Daniel Comboni Technical Institute, Liati, to organize a community health walk in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The walk brought together health workers, students, security personnel, and community members to raise awareness about breast cancer and promote early detection.
Participants walked through principal streets of Liati, educating residents on the importance of regular self-examination, early screening, and seeking prompt medical care.
Organizers of the event said the initiative formed part of efforts to intensify public education on breast cancer, which remains one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths among women, and to encourage healthy lifestyles.
They expressed appreciation to all participants and partners for their support and commitment to promoting women’s health and wellbeing in the district.
The health walk was described as both educative and inspiring, reinforcing the call for sustained community engagement in the fight against breast cancer.
