He gave the commendation in his address at the Third Russia-Africa Forum in Moscow, which is being hosted by President Putin.

President Mahama said Ghana called for an amicable resolution of the various conflicts ongoing around the world.

“We appreciate your willingness to resume trilateral talks in respect of the conflict with Ukraine and your call for a lasting peace agreement and security for both Russia and Ukraine,” President Mahama said.

“We also call for international cooperation and solidarity in the fight against terrorism, especially in the territories of the Alliance of Sahelian State.”

President Mahama said the Russia-Africa Forum had opened many opportunities for partnership, and so they must leave the Summit with a clear commitment to action and with the resolve to follow through.

He noted that the most lasting expression of their friendship would be the progress their people could see in their communities and their lives.
