Nkwata (O/R), Oct. 27, GNA- The Nkwanta South Municipal Assembly has donated six motorbikes to the Municipal Health Directorate to improve healthcare delivery, particularly in hard-to-reach communities across the Municipality.

Mr Joseph Antwi Awal, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), said the donation was intended to facilitate the movement of health personnel and enable them to provide essential healthcare services to residents in remote communities.

He urged the directorate to ensure that the motorbikes were used strictly for their intended purposes to achieve the desired impact on healthcare delivery.

The MCE also appealed to the Minister of Health, philanthropists, and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to support the development of the Municipal hospital to meet the required standards to attract doctors and other health professionals.

He noted that additional support for the hospital would help improve healthcare services and encourage more qualified health professionals to accept postings to the municipality.

Mr Evans Ativor, the Municipal Director of Health Services, expressed appreciation to the Municipal Assembly, particularly the MCE, for the initiative, describing it as a significant contribution towards improving healthcare delivery in the area.

The director pledged that the motorbikes would be put to good use to support health personnel in carrying out their duties and reaching communities that are difficult to access.

“This donation was expected to strengthen healthcare outreach activities and improve access to essential health services, especially for residents in remote parts of the municipality,” the director said.
