Aflao (V/R), Oct. 22, GNA – The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ketu South Constituency says it is fully prepared to conduct its constituency executive elections on Friday to elect new leaders to steer the affairs of the party.

Mr Mickson Akpavor, the Constituency Director of Elections, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that all arrangements had been completed for the polls, which are scheduled to run from 0800 hours to 1500 hours.

He said delegates who are in the queue before the official closing time would be allowed to cast their ballots.

Mr Akpavor disclosed that 74 aspirants were contesting various executive positions, while 2,963 delegates were expected to participate in the elections.

He expressed confidence in the preparedness of the election committee to conduct a free, fair, and peaceful exercise in accordance with the party’s electoral regulations.

According to him, the party had tasked the Electoral Commission with conducting the polls, while the Ghana Police Service would provide security before, during and after the elections.

Mr Akpavor urged aspirants and delegates to abide by the rules governing the exercise and conduct themselves peacefully to ensure a smooth and credible electoral process.

Ketu South has traditionally been a stronghold of the NDC, recording overwhelming support for the party in successive general elections.

Some party members who spoke to the GNA expressed optimism that delegates would elect competent executives capable of fostering unity and mobilising support ahead of the next general election.

One member described the contest as a family affair and called on all aspirants and their supporters to demonstrate mutual respect and fairness throughout the process.

The member expressed the hope that the delegates would elect leaders committed to hard work, party cohesion and increased electoral performance in future elections.
