Atuabo (W/R), Oct. 05, GNA – Mr. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, Member of Parliament (MP) for Ellembelle, has supported about 40 final-year teacher trainees from the Holy Child College of Education in Sekondi who are on teaching practice in some public schools in the Ellembelle District.
The gesture is to motivate teachers in rural communities to give of their best,
The support items include food rations, cartons of bottled water and sanitary pads to cushion the teacher trainees and motivate them during their stay in the area.
Mr. Abizi Morkeh, a youth activist and former Assembly Member of Atuabo, made the presentation to the teacher trainees on behalf of Mr. Armah-Kofi Buah at a short ceremony at Atuabo.
The Government and authorities of the Holy Child College of Education in Sekondi recently posted some teacher trainees on teaching practice to the Ellembelle District upon a request by Awulae Blay IX, Paramount Chief of the Eastern Nzema Traditional Area.
Mr. Armah-Kofi Buah, who is also the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, said the move aimed at supporting educators to fill critical staffing gaps in the district.
The MP pledged his commitment to support quality education delivery in the Ellembelle District.
Mr. Armah-Kofi Buah said the government was aware of the plight of teachers and would continue to motivate them.
