Akrofonso (Ash), Oct. 10, GNA – Mr Ernest Yaw Anim, Member of Parliament (MP) for Kumawu, has commissioned a 16-seater sanitation facility for residents of Mampong Akrofonso in the Sekyere Kumawu District of the Ashanti Region.
The facility is expected to improve sanitation and provide residents with a more decent and hygienic place to attend to their sanitation needs.
Mr Anim speaking at the ceremony, said the project required substantial financial investment and therefore appealed to residents to take good care of the facility to ensure that it served the community for a long time.
He said the development of the constituency remained a priority and that he was committed to ensuring that every community benefited from projects and interventions that would improve the living conditions of the people.
According to him, his interventions in the constituency had included the provision of streetlights, support for healthcare delivery, water projects, educational assistance from the basic to tertiary levels, and efforts to help unemployed young people secure employment opportunities.
The MP assured residents that he would continue to support development initiatives across the constituency and work towards completing all projects he had initiated.
Mr Anim urged the people to see the sanitation facility as their own and ensure that it was properly maintained.
Nana Baffour Gyimah, Chief of Akrofonso, expressed profound gratitude to the MP for providing the community with the facility.
He said the project was particularly significant because it was the first sanitation facility the town had received in more than 18 years.
Nana Baffour commended Mr Anim for his responsiveness to the development needs of the community and consistently responding positively to requests for assistance.
He described the MP as a humble, approachable, and listening representative, who had demonstrated genuine concern for the welfare of his constituents.
“Since I was born, I have never seen a lovely, obedient and humble MP like Mr Anim, because he is a listening MP.
I pray every constituency gets such an MP,” Nana Baffour said.
He prayed for God’s continued guidance, protection and strength for the MP and expressed confidence that Mr Anim would complete the other development projects he had initiated in the town.
The chief further appealed to residents to take ownership of the facility and ensure its proper maintenance to preserve it for present and future generations.
