Dzodze (V/R), Oct. 9, GNA – Reverend Martin Amenaki, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ketu North, has encouraged apprentices to remain committed to skills development and professional certification to enhance their employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.
He gave the advice when he interacted with apprentices who had completed their practical examinations for the National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI) Proficiency Examination at the Ketu North Municipal Assembly Hall at Dzodze.
The examination was organised by the Ketu North Business Advisory Centre (BAC) under the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA), as part of efforts to promote skills development, certification and entrepreneurship in the municipality.
A total of 43 apprentices from various communities and apprenticeship centres across the municipality participated in the exercise which was peaceful and orderly.
There were 21 apprentices examined in hairdressing, while 20 candidates took the dressmaking examination, and two others were assessed in tailoring.
Rev. Amenaki commended the apprentices for their dedication to acquiring employable and sustainable skills and urged them to remain focused and take the examination process seriously.
He noted that vocational skills acquisition was an important pathway to self-employment, economic independence, and meaningful contribution to local economic development.
The MCE expressed satisfaction with the candidates’ level of preparation, discipline and confidence, describing their enthusiasm and determination as encouraging.
He expressed optimism that the apprentices would perform well and urged them to apply their skills to create employment opportunities for themselves and contribute to the growth of the municipality.
