Aflao (V/R), Oct. 13, GNA – The Aflao Chapter of the Immigration Ladies Association (IMMILAC) has organised a breast cancer awareness walk through the principal streets of Aflao to educate the public on the disease and promote early detection.

The walk, held on Monday, October 12, 2026, formed part of activities to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month under the leadership of DCOI Mark Asamoah Boakye, Aflao Sector Commander.

Participants carried placards bearing awareness messages and engaged members of the public on the importance of regular breast self-examination, medical screening and seeking prompt medical attention when unusual changes were noticed.

The exercise also sought to encourage both women and men to prioritise their breast health and understand the importance of early detection in improving treatment outcomes.

The organisers said the activity was intended to increase public awareness of breast cancer and encourage people to take proactive steps towards protecting their health.

The awareness campaign was held under the theme, “know your breast, know your health” which highlighted the need for people to understand their breast health and seek medical attention when necessary.

The walk formed part of broader efforts to promote awareness, encourage early detection, and strengthen public education on breast cancer.
