Accra, Oct. 24, GNA – The Government will raise GH¢15.38 billion from the domestic market in the fourth quarter of 2026 to meet financing obligations and support debt management operations.
The programme includes Treasury bill issuances, medium and long-term debt instruments, and a planned buyback of 2027 bonds issued under the Domestic Debt Exchange Programme (DDEP).
The borrowing plan is contained in an issuance calendar released by the Bank of Ghana to guide investors and other market participants.
The calendar forms part of efforts to enhance transparency and predictability in Government borrowing while supporting financing activities in the domestic capital market.
Under the programme, the Government will conduct weekly auctions of 91-day, 182-day and 364-day Treasury bills, alongside medium and long-term securities.
The issuance calendar indicates that the borrowing programme is intended to meet the Government’s domestic financing requirements during the final quarter of 2026.
The government also intends to undertake liability management operations through the buyback of 2027 bonds issued under the DDEP.
The planned buyback exercise will be supported by the full operationalisation of the sinking fund, which is designed to facilitate the redemption and management of public debt obligations.
The issuance calendar is expected to provide investors and other market participants with guidance on upcoming borrowing activities to support investment planning and decision-making.
The publication of regular issuance calendars remains a key component of Ghana’s domestic debt management strategy aimed at promoting transparency and orderly market operations.
