Accra, Oct 26, GNA – Genkas Energy Ltd, a Ghanaian-registered limited liability oil, gas, renewables company, has appointed energy expert and member of the International Society of Petroleum Engineers, Ebenezer Adjetey Sowah, as its Managing Director.
Mr Sowah’s appointment to effect, September 30, was confirmed by the Board of Directors.
The former Vivo Energy Dealer Cluster Manager is expected to leverage his expertise in petroleum distribution, commercial operations, and business management to champion the next phase of the company.
His appointment comes with the responsibility of translating the company’s business objectives into measurable results, ensuring sound management and compliance with applicable industry requirements.
In a release copied to the Ghana News Agency on Monday, it stated that he would manage the company’s day-to-day operations, including oil and gas importation and distribution, financial management, staff supervision, and regulatory compliance.
He would also drive new business growth, strengthen customer and supplier relationships, and provide the Board with regular detailed reports on operational and financial performance.
It noted that Mr Sowah’s international affiliation reflected his professional connection with the wider petroleum engineering community and connection to developments and professional knowledge within the petroleum industry.
The release said his professional outlook emphasises safety, accountability, operational discipline, and data-driven decision-making, backed by expertise in business intelligence analysis and health, safety, and environmental management.
It also stated that his experience across energy operations, business intelligence, commercial management, and safety-related disciplines provides a broad perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing modern energy businesses.
Mr Sowah previously served as a Dealer Cluster Manager at Vivo Energy Ghana, where he gained experience in dealer network management, commercial performance, and stakeholder relations.
He studied Aircraft Load Controlling at Emirates Aviation College and holds a master’s degree in data management and Analysis from the University of Ghana.
