Accra, Oct. 17, GNA – The Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) has commenced negotiations on the 2027 base pay for public sector workers.
The negotiations began on Thursday, October 15, at the Ghana Employers Association’s Conference Hall in Accra, according to a statement from the Commission’s Public Affairs Unit, shared with the Ghana News Agency on Friday.
The meeting was held by the Public Services Joint Standing Negotiation Committee (PSJSNC), which brings together relevant parties to negotiate public sector compensation.
The statement said the meeting would continue next week, adding that further updates would be communicated after the next session.
Base pay is the basic salary used to determine the salaries of public sector workers under the Single Spine Pay Policy.
It serves as the foundation for calculating workers’ earnings before allowances, bonuses and other additional payments are included.
The negotiations are expected to determine the adjustment to the base pay for 2027, which will influence the basic salaries of public sector employees.
