Accra, Oct. 8, GNA – The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has released monies, mobile phones and laptops seized from the former Chief Executive Officer of the National Food and Buffer Stock Company, Hanan Abdul-Wahab Aludiba, and his wife, Faiza Seidu Wuni.
The items were released on Monday, October 5, 2026, following an application by the accused persons for access to properties seized by EOCO during its investigations into allegations that they caused GH¢62.6 million financial loss to the State.
Counsel for the accused persons said the electronic devices contained information relevant to the case and necessary for the preparation of their defence.
The defence, therefore, requested adequate time for the accused persons to access and review the information contained on the devices.
The High Court was scheduled to commence the trial on October 7, 2026, but Justice Francis Achibonga adjourned the case to October 20, 2026, to allow the accused persons adequate time to access and examine the information.
The prosecution’s case relates to allegations involving the handling of public funds, for which the accused persons have been put before the High Court.
The defence maintained that access to the information was necessary to enable the accused persons to properly prepare for trial.
