Ampain (W/R), Oct. 26, GNA – Mr Shaibu Dauda Abdulai, the Ellembelle National Democratic Congress (NDC) Constituency Chairman-elect, has pledged to unite and reconcile party faithful to retain the party in power in December 2028.
He made his intentions and vision clear in a statement after his victory in last Saturday’s Ellembelle NDC Constituency election at Ampain in the Western Region.
“Comrades, the campaign is over. The election is over. Now is the time to heal wounds, reconcile and bring everybody on board,” the statement said.
Mr Abdulai popularly called Vanda, expressed special appreciation to Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, the Member of Parliament for Ellembelle; Mr Joseph Armah Agyekum, the District Chief Executive for the area, delegates and all members at the 160 branches for the peace, transparency and fairness which characterised the polls.
That, he noted, was ample testimony that internal democracy had been entrenched in the NDC as a party and by extension as the government.
Mr Abdulai, who is the Personal Assistant to the Member of Parliament, Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, acknowledged the efforts of delegates who “stood in long queues, sacrificed your time, resources and voted for hope, unity and progress”.
He said, “I do not take this mandate for granted. I promise to lead with respect and dignity for every branch.”
Outlining his vision for the party, the Ellembelle NDC Chairman-elect pledged to be Chairman for all and to operate an open-door and all-inclusive administration.
Mr Abdulai promised “to work in total loyalty and support for the MP, DCE and all stakeholders to make the Ellembelle NDC more attractive, united and strong and work hard to retain the Ellembelle seat and increase votes come 2028.”
