NDC delegates demand abolition of system

Twifo Praso, Oct. 26, GNA – Some delegates at the just ended National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) Constituency elections in the Twifo-Atti-Morkwa Constituency have raised concerns of the delegates system in the Party’s elections.

The concerned delegates, led by Ms Yaa Agyiewaa, urged the Supreme Court to completely abolish the delegates system in Ghana’s politics to ensure free and fair elections.

They believed that the system when abolished, would significantly reduce bribery and corruption in the electoral process.

They expressed dissatisfaction with the performance of candidates in their respective positions in Saturday’s elections, highlighting issues like vote buying and the distribution of money.

“We are dissatisfied with the process and therefore calling for a more transparent and fair electoral process, where the influence of money and material things are minimised,” they added.
