Akatsi (V/R), Oct. 29, GNA – The Central Planning Committee (CPC) of the 2026 Avenor Tutudoza Festival has imposed a 13-day ban on social activities within the Avenor Traditional Area from Tuesday, November 17, to Sunday, November 29, to pave the way for the annual festival celebrations.
The directive is contained in a statement signed by Mr Thomas Clarkson Adade, Chairman of the Central Planning Committee (CPC) for this year’s festival.
The statement said the ban formed part of measures to facilitate the successful organisation of the festival and ensure that the traditional activities associated with the celebration were carried out peacefully.
The ban covers funerals, mass gatherings, noise-making and other social activities not authorised by the Avenor Traditional Council within the period.
This year’s festival is being celebrated on the theme: “Peace, Unity and Security: Foundation for the Sustainable Development of Avenor.”
The festival is held under the auspices of the Avenor Traditional Council, led by Togbe Dorglo Anumah VI, Paramount Chief of the Avenor Traditional Area and President of the Avenor Traditional Council.
Avenortutudoza is an annual celebration of the history, traditions and cultural heritage of the people of Avenor, bringing together natives at home and abroad, traditional authorities and other stakeholders to promote unity and development.
