Abesim, (Bono), Oct. 5, GNA – Mr Augustine Boadu-Gyamfi, the Headmaster of the Abesim Roman Catholic Junior High School in the Sunyani Municipality has appealed for computers to advance the teaching and learning of ICT in the school.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Abesim, near Sunyani, he said the school had a standard laboratory with inadequate computers and called for government and stakeholder assistance.
He said the school had large classes with the lowest class accommodating 60 students, saying that because of the inadequate computers, it was always difficult for teachers to teach ICT effectively.
Mr Boadu-Gyamfi noted that ICT remained crucial due to advancement in technology, saying that depriving students of the required computers was not the best.
He also expressed concern about the lack of a convenience selling place for food vendors too, worrying that whenever it rained, the food vendors ought to manage with some of the students at the various classrooms, which often disrupted teaching and learning.
Mr Boadu-Gyamfi appealed to wealthy Abesim natives, residents both home and abroad to come to their aid too, saying that the school had produced several scholars and required urgent assistance.
