Sunyani, (Bono), Sept. 3, GNA – The University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) has secured three-year Accreditation from the United Kingdom to run professional courses in Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT).

With the accreditation, the institution will run international courses for CILT certificate, diploma, and advanced diploma.

Mr Emmanuel Kankam-Boadu, the Chairman of the Sunyani Section of CILT and Procurement Officer at UENR disclosed this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani.

An accompanying Accreditation Certificate number A2026/UENR/00001 made available to the GNA was signed by Jan Sternberg, the International President of CILT valid till July 26, 2029.

Mr Kamkam-Boadu noted that the country has made significant contributions to global organisation networking by producing leaders who had risen to senior international positions.

“Ghanaian professionals can further learn how countries like the UK, Singapore, Australia, South Africa and others address challenges of congestion, ports, freight movement, public transport, supply chains and road safety”, he stated.

Mr Kamkam-Boadu expressed the hope that the CILT courses would enable students and professionals in the transport and logistic sector to pursue higher international qualifications and professional development.

The course would also help networking and career opportunities to facilitate national development by helping professionals and students to understand international supply-chain requirements and thereby improve the nation’s competitiveness.

Mr Kamkam-Boadu emphasized the dedication of the CILT Ghana professionals to serve as the bridge between national development priorities and global transport and logistics expertise.

He called on the nation to do more in addressing challenges like urban congestion as well as tackling emerging problems confronting the nation’s public transportation, road safety, ports and maritime logistics, railway and multimodal transport sectors.
