Rome, Sept 29 (ITALPRESS/GNA) – Two people have been confirmed dead after a rubber dinghy sank in the waters between Libya and Tunisia. Sea Watch , which responded with its Aurora vessel following a report from Alarm Phone, reported the incident .
The dinghy was found almost deflated .
“There were five people on board and two lifeless bodies. Another 25 had clung to the Hasdrubal platform to escape the shipwreck. Two women reported losing their children in the waves ,” Sea Watch’s post on X reads.
“The dinghy was on the border of the Libyan and Tunisian SAR zones, and the five survivors told us that other people had managed to reach the oil platform after the shipwreck. Among the two lifeless bodies was that of a child, perhaps one of the two missing ,” it continues.
