Accra, Sept. 21, GNA – President John Dramani Mahama will this evening, Monday, September 21, host a high-level Accra Reset Meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.
The event will bring together global leaders, health development advocates, and partner institutions to assess progress and renew commitments one year after the initiative launched in New York.
A statement issued by Ghana’s Presidency said during the event, President Mahama was expected to launch a report from a high-level panel established by the Accra Reset Presidential Council.
It said key speakers scheduled to address the event include Kenyan President William Ruto, Barbadian Prime Minister Mia Mottley, former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo, former Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, and former Costa Rican President Laura Chinchilla.
It noted that the event would also feature presentations from representatives of the World Health Organisation (WHO), the Group of 77 (G77), the Commonwealth, the OECD, and delegates from China, France, and the UK, alongside Nigerian industrialist Aliko Dangote.
The statement said taking place on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, the meeting would be broadcast live starting at 2000 hours (8:00pm Ghana Time).
