Kumasi Sept 23, GNA — The Ghana Hajj Board has announced that mandatory medical screening for all prospective pilgrims seeking to undertake Hajj 2027 will begin on Saturday, October 03, 2026.
The Board said the exercise would be conducted at designated screening centres throughout the country.
A press release dated September 22, 2026, and issued by the Medical team of the Hajj Board said the medical screening was compulsory for Hajj 2027 and was a prerequisite for the processing of pilgrims’ Hajj visas.
The statement further indicated that all prospective pilgrims must undergo the screening and obtain the required medical clearance before proceeding with their Hajj preparations.
The Board also stated that the cost of the medical screening was GHS 650.00 per pilgrim, adding that, applicants were expected to present valid travel passports and any relevant supporting documents at the time of screening.
Prospective pilgrims were advised to ensure that their passport details were accurate and readily available when they appeared for screening.
To promote efficiency and prevent overcrowding at the screening centres, the Hajj Board urged pilgrims who intend to travel through Hajj travel agents to contact their respective agents to schedule an appointment on their behalf.
For those who are making direct-payment and protocol arrangements, the statement directed them to contact the Ghana Hajj Board Secretariat to obtain their assigned appointment dates.
The Board encouraged all pilgrims to strictly adhere to their allocated appointment dates and screening schedules,and advised prospective pilgrims to visit the Hajj Board website for the timetable of screening dates across the various centres.
