Ayigya (Ash), Sept. 1, GNA – The management of Sakafia Islamic Senior High School (SHS) in the Asokore-Mampong Municipality has honoured Asawase MP, Alhaji Muntaka Mubarak, and Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Ben Abdullah Alhassan, for their contributions to the school’s development.

The honour recognised their sustained support towards improving teaching and learning conditions, particularly classroom infrastructure and other school facilities.

Sheikh Ismail Adam, Founder of the school, said at the ceremony that recognising individuals who contributed to community development was important to encourage others to emulate their good works.

He said when community leaders and public office holders demonstrated commitment to education, students benefited academically and through improved morale and a stronger sense of belonging.

Each honouree received a citation at a ceremony to commission a 12-unit classroom block on the school premises. The ceremony was attended by school management, students, community members and other stakeholders.

Sheikh Adam said the Holy Quran emphasised the importance of recognising and honouring people who contributed positively to society.

He said honouring good works helped create a culture in which philanthropy and service were appreciated and replicated, adding that the MP and MCE deserved the recognition for initiating infrastructure development at the school.

He said the MP had recently donated desks and promised to personally complete the school’s dining hall.

Sheikh Adam noted that such interventions were crucial because proper dining facilities and conducive learning environments contributed to students’ health, discipline, and overall performance.

He said the support reflected leadership that prioritised human development through education and therefore deserved commendation.

The MP and MCE thanked the school management for the recognition and expressed their commitment to working with the school to promote its development.

They urged other individuals and institutions to partner with the school to provide additional facilities, including teaching and learning materials, for the benefit of students.
