Ho, Sept. 27, GNA – Dr Stanley Glate, a Regional Secretary hopeful of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has stated that leadership should be viewed as more than just a title.
He said it should produce action, coordination, and results.
Dr Glate, who is also a lecturer at the Ho Technical University, said these in an interview with Ghana News Agency at Ho, stating that if elected, he would build a Secretariat that worked with purpose, accountability, and results.
The aspiring secretary said the future of the party in the region required more than celebrating its proud political history.
“We must work to renew the organisation, strengthen our structures, deepen our grassroots engagement and provide leadership that responds to the realities of today,” he stated.
Dr Glate noted that his agenda for the Secretariat would be reset, rebuilt, and restored.
He intimated that reset did not mean abandoning the party’s history but learning from those experiences and using the lessons learnt to prepare the party for the future.
Dr Glate continued that in collaboration with others, he would work to strengthen the branches, electoral areas and Constituencies.
He noted that he would also improve communication, support the party’s structures, and ensure that members at every level remained connected to the work of the regional Secretariat.
“We must build an organizational foundation that is strong, coordinated, and capable of sustaining effective political mobilisation,” he noted.
Dr Glate said he would also work to restore confidence between leadership and the grassroots.
He stated that unity, transparency, accountability, and accessibility would be central to the administration of the party’s regional Secretariat under his watch.
“I envision a party where Constituencies feel valued, branches receive the support they need, activists are heard, and every member has the opportunity to participate meaningfully in the affairs of the party in the region,” he said.
Dr Glate stated that he could renew the focus of the party in the region, strengthening coordination and “building a Secretariat that listens, communicates and responds to the needs of members of our great party.”
He therefore called on delegates to vote for him for fresh energy, proven strategy and modern leadership.
