Dambai (O/R), Sept. 17, GNA – Mr Safo Nketia, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Krachi East, has commissioned some development projects undertaken by the Municipal Assembly, to improve basic infrastructure and service delivery in the Municipality.
The projects included the siting and drilling of mechanised boreholes at Monkrate communities like Dambai-Israel, Lapaz Park, Dambai Health Centre and the Krachi East Municipal Assembly (KEMA) premises, as well as the refurbishment of the MCE’s bungalow at the Dambai Residency.
The interventions formed part of the Assembly’s efforts to address some of the developmental needs of communities and public institutions within the Municipality.
The mechanised boreholes are expected to improve access to potable water for residents and enhance water supply to beneficiary institutions, particularly the Dambai polyclinic.
The refurbishment of the MCE’s bungalow is also intended to improve the condition of the public residential facility and provide suitable accommodation for the occupant of the municipal office.
At the commissioning, Mr Nketia said the Assembly remained committed to implementing projects that directly addressed the needs of residents and improved the delivery of essential services.
He said access to potable water remained a priority, particularly for communities and public institutions where inadequate supply could affect residents and service delivery.
The MCE called on communities and beneficiary institutions to take ownership of the projects and ensure their proper maintenance and sustainability.
He encouraged residents to cooperate with the Assembly and protect the facilities so that they could continue to serve their intended purposes.
Mr Abdul Munttalib Amin, the Krachi East Municipal Health Director, commended the Assembly for providing the mechanised borehole for the Dambai Health Centre.
He said inadequate access to running water had been a challenge for the facility, affecting both staff and patients.
Mr Amin said the new mechanised borehole would help ease the water supply challenge and improve conditions for healthcare delivery at the facility.
He expressed appreciation to the Assembly for the intervention, saying reliable water supply was essential for maintaining proper hygiene and ensuring a conducive environment for patients and health workers.
The commissioning formed part of the Assembly’s ongoing development activities aimed at improving infrastructure, access to basic services and the general wellbeing of residents in the Krachi East Municipality.
