Jasikan (O/R), Sept. 29, GNA – Government appointees at the Jasikan Municipal Assembly have commended the leadership of the country, Oti Region and Jasikan Municipality for the significant progress in governance and development in the municipality.
The appointees expressed appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama, Mr John Kwadwo Gyapong, the Oti Regional Minister, Mr Parke-Davis Magyigbe, the Jasikan Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), and Mr Kofi Iddie Adams, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Buem Constituency, for their commitment to the development of the municipality.
Mr Bernard Ade Akakpo, a government appointee, made the commendation on behalf of his colleagues in a message of appreciation shared with the Ghana News Agency (GNA).
He said the appointees had witnessed the “tremendous progress” in the municipality, citing the Oti Technical University, construction of Community-based Health Planning (CHPS) compounds and classroom blocks, rural electrification projects and road reshaping, among other interventions.
Mr Akakpo said the developments demonstrated the purposeful leadership, dedication and commitment to improving the living conditions of residents.
He said the appointees were proud of the development gains and remained committed to working with relevant stakeholders to promote good governance, accountability and effective service delivery in the municipality.
Mr Akakpo called for sustained collaboration among the Assembly, government, traditional authorities, development partners and residents to consolidate the gains made and accelerate development in the municipality.
“Jasikan is moving forward. Buem is progressing. Together, we can make our municipality a model of excellence in the Oti Region,” he said.
The Jasikan Municipal Assembly has 41 members, comprising 27 elected members, 12 government appointees, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), and the Member of Parliament.
