Bechem (Ahafo), Sept. 15, GNA – Mr Emmanuel Kwame Frimpong, Tano South Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), has said the Government is finalising modalities for the establishment of a new Nursing and Midwifery Training College at Techimantia in the municipality.
He commended the chiefs of Techimantia for releasing land for the college and assured that construction of the physical infrastructure would commence soon.
Mr Frimpong said this when he addressed the Second Ordinary Meeting of the Municipal Assembly at Bechem, the municipal capital, noting that the college would provide opportunities for more students to pursue health-related courses.
He added that the initiative would greatly help address the emerging health needs of the growing population in the municipality.
Mr Charles Asiedu, Member of Parliament for the Tano South Constituency, pledged his commitment to ensuring that the development of the municipality was taken to the next level.
He said addressing the emerging development needs of constituents remained his priority and called on the people to support him to achieve his vision for the municipality.
Mr Kwaku Asomah, Assembly Member for the Techimantia Sisirease Electoral Area, commended the Assembly for facilitating the establishment of the college in the area.
He pledged the support and cooperation of the people to make the college a reality.
Mr Oga Kwashiga, an opinion leader at Techimantia, appealed to community members to desist from politicising the establishment of the college.
He noted that the college would create opportunities for all students, regardless of their political affiliations, to access and pursue tertiary education.
