Torve (V/R), Sept. 25, GNA – Mr Thomas Yao Atidepe, a community development advocate, has led a team of media personnel to inspect a completed Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC) telecommunications project at Torve in the Akatsi South Municipality.
The visit, undertaken on Thursday, was to assess the progress and impact of the project on telecommunications connectivity in the community and surrounding areas.
Mr Atidepe, who expressed satisfaction with the development, said the project had been completed, and good network connectivity was now being experienced in the area.
He said the development would improve communication and provide residents, particularly young people, with better access to digital services, information, and other opportunities.
Mr Bernard Ahiafor, Member of Parliament for Akatsi South, said other communities within the Municipality would also benefit from the project as efforts continued to improve telecommunications connectivity in underserved areas.
Some residents of Torve commended Mr Ahiafor and Mr Atidepe for championing the project and contributing to its realisation.
They said improved network connectivity would positively impact communication, business activities, education, and access to digital services in the community.
The residents expressed appreciation to all stakeholders who contributed to the completion of the project and called for its proper maintenance to ensure sustained and reliable network services.
Residents of Torve and adjoining communities have over the years faced challenges with telecommunications connectivity, affecting communication and access to online services.
The completion of the GIFEC project is therefore expected to contribute to addressing some of the connectivity challenges in the area.
