Kiev, Sept 10. (dpa/GNA) – At least four people have been killed in a Russian drone attack on the south-eastern Ukrainian town of Pavlohrad, and more than 60 were injured, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a post on X on Thursday.
The victims were simply in the vicinity of shopping centres, he said. Several shops and cars were damaged in the attack, the Dnipropetrovsk regional prosecutor’s office said. The authorities are investigating whether the attack constitutes a war crime, they said.
Pavlohrad is around 80 kilometres from the front line. Dozens more people were also injured in Kramatorsk in the Russian attacks, that struck residential buildings, Zelensky added.
Other cities such as Kiev and Dnipro, as well as towns in the Dnipro, Donetsk, Sumy, Chernihiv and Kharkiv regions, were also attacked. “We are working with our partners with the utmost intensity to protect Ukrainians from this Russian terror,” he said.
Decisions are being taken on further support packages for Ukraine, including military aid and support specifically aimed at protecting Ukrainian airspace, Zelensky said, adding further aid packages are being prepared.
Ukraine has been fighting off a full-scale Russian invasion since February 2022.
