Dzolokpuita (V/R), Sept 14, GNA – The reconstruction of the Dzolokpuita-Akome Bridge in the Ho West Municipality of the Volta Region is progressing steadily, bringing renewed hope and relief to residents who depend on the bridge for daily activities.
The bridge, which serves as a vital link between Dzolokpuita, Akome and surrounding communities, had deteriorated over the years, affecting movement and economic activities.
Work currently ongoing at the site indicates significant progress, with engineers and technical personnel on site working to ensure timely completion.
Mr Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, the Member of Parliament for Ho West, in a media engagement, has commended the engineers and technical team of the Ghana Highways Authority’s Bridge Maintenance Department for their dedication and hard work.
Mr Bedzrah said the reconstruction was a major relief for the communities that had endured difficulties using the deplorable bridge.
He reaffirmed his commitment to advocating the development needs of his constituents and ensuring that their concerns were translated into meaningful action.
According to the MP, the bridge is crucial to improving access to markets, schools, health facilities and other essential services in the area.
Residents in the affected communities have expressed optimism that the completion of the project will ease transportation challenges.
They noted that the reconstructed bridge would enhance connectivity and boost economic activities in Ho West.
When completed, the project is expected to improve road safety, facilitate trade, and contribute to the overall development of the municipality.
