Dormaa-Ahenkro (Bono), Sept 04, GNA-Police have retrieved the decomposed body of an unidentified lady from an uncompleted building at Dormaa-Ahenkro in the Bono Region.

The Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Haruna Dauda, the Dormaa Municipal Police Commander told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the decomposed body was discovered by some residents at the Agapet Area on August 24, 2026.

He said that the police had since buried the body because health workers at the Dormaa Presbyterian Hospital could not conduct the autopsy because of the decomposed condition of the body.

“We have buried the body, and nobody has come forth to complain about a missing relation,” ASP Dauda stated, adding that police investigations were ongoing.

He explained that the police received a distress call about the discovery of the body, saying that personnel proceeded to the scene and found the body in a decomposed condition.

ASP Dauda said that the police together with some environmental health officers at the Dormaa Central Municipal Assembly retrieved the body and deposited it at the Dormaa Presbyterian Hospital mortuary.

He called on the members of the communities in the municipality to volunteer information about people with questionable characters as well as criminal activities to the police for investigations and to help control the crime wave in the area.
