Sunyani, (Bono), Sept. 28, GNA-Classrooms of some basic schools in the Sunyani municipality were locked up, as teachers in the municipality joined their colleagues in the nationwide industrial action.
During round visits on Monday, the Ghana News Agency (GNA) noticed some school children playing around as their teachers failed to attend school.
Some of the schools visited include the Methodist and Nyamaa Basic Schools in Sunyani, the Bono Regional capital.
“A National Service person came to the school and informed us that we should go home, and we would be informed when to come back to school,” one of the pupils at the Nyaama Basic School told the GNA.
There were, however, few learners sighted in the schools. as the GNAT, the National Association of Graduate Teachers and the Pre-Tertiary Teachers Association of Ghana declared the nationwide strike.
